For those travelers who would only visit Uganda during their Safari, Queen Elizabeth provides a classic safari experience like one would in Kenya and Tanzania. This park is located on the equator in western Uganda and encompasses 764 square miles of territory wedged between two of Africa’s Great Lakes Lake Edward and Lake George. It is famous for its breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife (including many big game species). The Kazinga Channel connects these two bodies of water, which provide a year-round source of water for the park’s great variety of vegetation and fauna. The park contains a di- verse range of ecosystems, including wetlands and equatorial forests, as well as caverns, open grassland and volcanic hills. The craggy peaks of the distant Rwenzori Mountains soar above it all, adding drama to the already stunning scenery. The highlight on Safari while at Queen Elizabeth is the boat-based game viewing in the kazinga channel.
