Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi is the fairy tale forest that we have all ever imagined. It is one of Africa’s oldest ecosystems. This is a landscape wrapped in a blanket of slopy mountains, bamboo tickets and bubbling streams. The locals call it Bwindi which literally translated to “impenetrable”. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Africa due to its exceptional natural and cultural significance. It is one of Uganda’s only three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a living tourism destination. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site because to its unique feature of conserving three big apes in Africa. It is home to endan- gered mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, and the Batwa people. The latter have been evicted from the forest in order to improve conservation efforts for mountain gorillas. The forest is divided into 4 sectors namely, Bhuoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo. Each sector has something particular to offer from breathtaking scenery to ease in tracking a gorilla family. For the most common experience when in Bwindi, professional guides will lead you deep into this teeming habitat in search of habituated gorilla families, where you will spend an unforgettable hour with the greatest of the great apes observing their family ties, hierarchy, and every move, The best months to visit to Bwindi for your gorilla trek is during the long dry season beginning in June continuing all through August, You can trek them during the wet season too, but it becomes difficult to traverse the highlands
