Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru is among Kenya’s most visited national parks. Surrounded by rocky escarpments, pockets of acacia forest and the makalia waterfall, the park is gorgeous year-round and is home to both black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, hippos, and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. The lake’s abundance of algae attracts a vast quantity of flamingos that famously line the shore, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores. The surface of the shallow lake is often hardly recognizable due to the continually shifting mass of pink.
